If you plan on visiting Music City for a game, we highly suggest you take in some eats at a local food truck. Jules Festa of NashvilleFoodTruckJunkie.com gives you a rundown of what’s happening this weekend:
Did you see Big Ben on The Cooking Channel? Do you wanna be like Big Ben talking about food trucks on a national cable station?
Boy do we have some upcoming opportunities for you!!!!
Nashville is being invaded by The Cooking Channel filming for their show “Eat St” which is a show featuring only food trucks and street eats. Some of the food trucks that have already appeared on Eat St are Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, I Dream of Weenie, Wrapper’s Delight, Riff’s Fine Street Food, Yayo’s OMG, and Puckett’s Trolley.
This Sunday (11/17) starting at 11:30 am at Yazoo Taproom & Brewery, Crepe A Diem, who had several accolades at the recent Nashville Street Food Awards, will be taping their segment with The Cooking Channel. Crepe A Diem is a food truck who is creating REAL French Crepes. There are posers out there, but Crepe A Diem is making LEGIT crepes. They even have one with Nutella. Not sold yet? Like a Savory Crepe? They have a Duck Confit crepe that is mouth-wateringly delicious.
On Tuesday, Biscuit Love will be filming their Eat St segment at Craft Brewed (2502 Franklin Pike) from Noon – 2 PM. Chef Karl is one of the Food Truck Junkies favorite chefs. Doing everything from scratch and serving up a legit Nashville Hot Chicken biscuit, this truck is near and dear to my heart. They too have been on The Cooking Channel’s Unique Eats as well. Seriously, who doesn’t love an Angel Biscuit!? And you cannot pass up a Bonut aka a biscuit donut!!!! And now that their Airstream trailer is operational, it is hard to miss them when they are out!!!!
On Wednesday tentatively set also at Yazoo Taproom & Brewery from Noon – 2 PM, a Nashville Food Truck Junkie favorite, Delta Bound will be taping their segment for The Cooking Channel. Delta Bound will be featuring my FAVORITE item, Catfish Tacos. They will also have an item called “The Big Pig” along with a few of their Nashville Street Food Award entries including the S’more Whiskey Pudding. We hear that Delta Bound MAY be offering a free dessert or entrée to the first few people who will get to be on camera eating their goodies!
Now because they are taping for The Cooking Channel, you need to be prepared for a little waiting around. While it may say Noon to 2 PM, they may not actually start shooting the crowd eating until closer to 2. So just be aware. You can ask Ben about his experience when The Cooking Channel shot Unique Eats with Riff’s. We hear it was about 3 hours after the arrival time that they actually started shooting.
But here is YOUR CHANCE to not only invade the shoots with your Preds gear, but to be on cable TV! I am definitely going to attending the Wednesday shoot with Delta Bound.
I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted in the 2013 Favorite Local Food Truck Blogger poll. We brought this home to Nashville! Nashvillians are truly awesome! That being said, we have our locations page on the blog up and running again to help you find your ways to the trucks throughout the week! And make sure to check back here at Penalty Box Radio. We’ll try to help you find your way the trucks before and maybe after the Preds games!!!
Yazoo Taproom & Brewery is located at 910 Division Street. If you went to the recent Hockey Fights Cancer event, then you already know where to go!!!!
See you all at the trucks!!!
