Player reaction to the Ryan Johansen trade:
“Playing against him, he is very high skilled and still a young guy with lots of potential and an already established player. He had a really good year last year. I’m sure he will help us a lot and bring that skillset and bring another weapon for our power play. Hopefully it sparks up a little bit.”
– Pekka Rinne
“It’s part of the business, but it’s sad to see Jones go. He was a good friend. We played a lot together. We were roommates for a period of time too, so I wish him the best.
A great addition in Johansen. He does everything in the game. He’s a big body, skates well, shoots, passes, everything. It’s a good addition for our team and hopefully we can find some success with him.”
– Ryan Ellis (who played with Johansen on Team Canada in the World Junior Championship)
