On Sunday afternoon, the Boston Pride closed their home schedule with a 4-2 win over the Connecticut Whale.
It has been a tremendously successful inaugural season for the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL), and the Boston Pride ended their home schedule by breaking the attendance record set by their home opener with well over 1,900 fans at the game. Support continues to grow for the league that features all-world athletes that are the best at their sport. The speed, intensity and skill seen in the game will leave you wanting more.
The game on Sunday was also marked at “Denna Day,” which honored Pride player Denna Laing. Laing, who suffered a spine injury in the Women’s Outdoor Classic on New Year’s Eve, made her first public appearance since her injury. Prior to the game, she joined her teammates for a team picture on the ice as well as joined in the team huddle prior to warm ups.
