UAH Falls 4-2 To 6th-Ranked Michigan Tech

Friday night, the University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s hockey team took on the 6th-ranked Michigan Tech Huskies. In a game that was much closer than the score would show, the fourth being an empty netter, the Chargers, just couldn’t overcome the 3-2 deficit in the third period to force overtime with Michigan Tech.

The game started out on a high note as Craig Pierce notched a shorthanded goal to begin the game and gave the Chargers something they aren’t used to having this early on in the game, a lead. While special teams played a huge role in Friday’s game, head coach Mike Corbett wants the team to play more disciplined Saturday evening.

Jeff Vanderlugt, who tallied a power play goal, wants the team to live up to their potential. When UAH played physical and attacked the puck, the Huskies played more on their heels.
