For three quarters of the game, the future result of the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers game against Bowling Green State University seemed promising; and then the wheels came off, resulting in an 8-3 loss.
After falling behind 1-0 less than a minute into the second period, the Chargers battled back to take the lead with two power play goals. Austin Beaulieu notched his first career goal for UAH to kick off the scoring for the Chargers. Brandon Parker, who drew a major and game misconduct by taking a hard hit from behind by Stephan Baylis, scored his second of the season. BGSU tied the game late in the third, and the team would enter the final frame notched at 2-2.
Just 3:28 into the third period, Huntsville native Josh Kestner tallied his fourth of the season, bringing his team-leading point total to 11. Those 11 points put him in a tie for second in the conference in points.
Following that goal however, everything that could go wrong for UAH completely went wrong. BGSU tied the game up again just 17 seconds following Kestner’s goal. Along with that goal, the Falcons scored five unanswered goals in the third period, giving them the 8-3 victory.
