After starting the season with two shootout losses at home the Preds headed out on a seven game road trip, the longest they will experience this season by three games.
Things got started well with a win over the Minnesota Wild and Ryan Suter but then went downhill with a shutout loss to St. Louis. That was followed by another shootout loss, this time to the Anaheim Ducks, and then another shutout loss against the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Preds finally got things going again by winning in their fourth shootout of the season against the Los Angeles Kings. They followed that up a few nights later getting another shootout win against the San Jose Sharks.
Last night they closed out the road trip with a six to one thrashing in St. Louis where they chased Brian Elliott for the second time this season.
That means that the Preds finished this long road trip with a 4-2-1 record gathering nine points along the way. They now sit in sixth place in the conference one point behind St. Louis.
