Auburn took on Tennessee in the seventh place game to start the day. The two number four teams provided what has been the best game of the SECHC Playoffs. There was no score after the first twenty minutes of play. The Tigers tallied a goal in the second to take the lead. The Ice Vols tied the game up in the third period to send the game to overtime. Auburn would score with two of three of their shooters to win the game.
Ole Miss and Vandy played for fifth place in the second game of the day. Ole Miss dominated the game as they held the Dores scoreless until the third. The Rebels scored two in the first and five in the second. In the third, Vandy scored twice but Ole Miss scored two of their own. The Rebels took home fifth place with 9-2 win.
Arkansas and South Carolina faced off in the first semifinal game of the day. Arkansas continue to dominate play in the playoffs. The Razorbacks scored three goals in the first. Both teams scored twice in the second period. Arkansas scored six unanswered goals in the third to secure their spot in the SECHC Finals with an 11-2 victory.
Florida faced Alabama in front of a strong Crimson crowd in the last game of day two of the SECHC Playoffs. The Frozen Tide made the crowd a factor early on as they scored just 17 seconds in the game. Florida tallied a goal to take a 1-1 score into the second period. Bama scored three in the second to take a three goal lead into the third. The Frozen Tide would add two unanswered goals in the third to beat the Gators 6-1 and lock down their position in the SECHC Finals.
South Carolina faces Florida Saturday at 11:30 am CT in the third place game.
Arkansas takes on Alabama at 2:30 pm CT Saturday in the finals.
