Nashville Predators acquire Kyle Turris in three-team trade

ashton-remax_NEWThe Nashville Predators officially announced that they have acquired Kyle Turris from the Ottawa Senators in a three-team trade, sending prospects Samuel Girard and Vladislav Kamenev as well as a 2018 second-round pick to the Colorado Avalanche as part of the deal.

“Kyle is one of the best two-way centers in the National Hockey League,” general manager David Poile said in a press release. “He should be a great fit in our locker room and will bolster our lineup and give us the depth that’s necessary during the regular season and the playoffs. He is someone who can play in all situations and will help us tremendously on both ends of the ice. He will give our coaching staff a number of options inContinuumUpdatedterms of offensive production and defensive responsibilities.”

SoutherRVCenterTurris, 28, has nine points in 11 games so far this season and 320 points in 544 career NHL games. Last season, he had the second-most points among Senators forwards with 55 and led the team in goals with 27.

The Canadian center is currently in the final year of a five-year contract that carries a $3.5 million cap hit.
