Preds win thrilling home opener over Flyers

It was an emotional, banner-raising night in Nashville for the Predators’ home opener. After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the Predators allowed the Philadelphia Flyers to score five unanswered goals. Next, Nashville scored three unanswered goals to win the game 6-5. Two of the three goals the Predators scored were on the power play with less than two minutes in regulation.

Defenseman Samuel Girard made his NHL debut in the contest as well and spent much of the time playing with Mattias Ekholm. Ekholm tallied two assists, Filip Forsberg notched two goals, including the game winner, and an assist and Scott Hartnell added two goals as well. Hear from all three plus Peter Laviolette in the video above.
