Thursday night’s match-up between Nashville and Calgary was a huge game with playoff implications for both teams. With Calgary at 86 points and Nashville at 83 points prior to the game, along with St. Louis at 83, getting a victory to keep pace in the Central and wild card races was essential to the Predators. They did just that, pushing through to a 3-1 win over the Flames.
Calle Jarnkrok, whose goal came off a great assist from Craig Smith, opened the scoring in the second period. Colton Sissons added the game-winner and Ryan Ellis finished off the scoring.
Goaltender Pekka Rinne was also stellar in net, making 24 saves.
