Nashville Fire To Host Full Weekend Of Hockey

This weekend the Nashville Fire Department and Ford Ice Center are hosting a full weekend of hockey tournaments featuring emergency service hockey teams from around the country.  The three-day tournament begins Friday night and will conclude with two championship games on Sunday afternoon.  The Guns & Hoses tournament will feature teams competing in two separate divisions, with the champions from each division winning $1,000 for the charity of their choice.

The Nashville Fire Department will also be playing a charity benefit game against the NY Heroes team following the Nashville Predators afternoon tilt against the New York Rangers. The Heroes team is made up of players from both NYPD and FDNY.  This special game will be a benefit for Robertson County paramedic Gary Thompson, who is battling a brain tumor.

All games this weekend are free admission, but donations are encouraged at both the Bridgestone Arena and Ford Ice Center events.  Firefighters will be “Filling the boot” with fire boots available to place donations in.
