Mt. Juliet-Wilson Central-Lebanon win county co-op battle

On Wednesday night the team from Sumner County (composed of students from Hendersonville, Beech, and Station Camp High School) faced off against the team from Wilson County (Composed of students from Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet, and Lebanon) at Centennial Spotsplex in Nashville.

The Golden Bears were able to come out on top with a 6 to 4 victory over the Commando from Sumner County. While Hendersonville/Beech/Station Camp came away with a lost, #6 Matthew Siclilano tally 3 goal for the Hat Trick putting him at 13 goals so far in the season. With the fourth goal for Hendersonville is was Shane Pearson who found a way to put the puck in the back of the net for his third goal of the season.

Mt. Juliet was able to spread the scoring around with six different players finding the back of the net. Paponetti got the scoring started for the Golden Bears in the first and following him were Krenzke, Panter, Palmer, Settle and Bristow. Also, Robert Simonik found his way on the scoresheet with 2 assists for the night.

Goaltender Zachary Figus for Hendersonville stopped 20 out of the 26 shots face, while goalie Michael Dillard for the Golden Bears stopped 13 out of the 17 shots he faced.

Coach Winfrey for the Golden Bear spoke about their game. When asked about what he was most proud of, Winfrey stated, “The third and fourth lines, he’s got a good first line (Hendersonville) and it was hard getting them matched up, the bottoms line really held it together for us tonight.”
