Mike Fisher named captain of the Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators officially named center Mike Fisher the seventh captain in team history. Fisher had previously served as the alternate captain for the team the previous four seasons. Since joining the team via trade on February 10, 2011, Fisher has been a leader on and off the ice and is tremendously active in the community through his charity and mission work. In his career, Fisher has played in 1,016 regular season games and amounted 258 goals and 285 assists.

“One word from me for this year would be excitement. I believe that we can win the Stanley Cup here in this city.” – Mike Fisher

Previous captains for the Nashville Predators are Shea Weber, Jason Arnott, Kimmo Timonen, Greg Johnson and Tom Fitzgerald. Scott Walker served as captain for two week in January of 2003.
