The Predators announced today they’ve signed forward Michael McCarron to a two-year extension, keeping him in Nashville through the 2025-26 season.
McCarron, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, will earn $1.8 million over the length of the contract. His average annual value will be $900,000 each year, though the exact salary details are unknown.
Nashville acquired McCarron through a trade with Montreal in January 2020, sending Laurent Dauphin to the Canadiens in the deal. McCarron has since played 131 games for the Preds and 57 games for the Milwaukee Admirals.
McCarron had a career high 14 points (7 goals, 7 asssists) in 2021-22 and has 13 points (7 goals, 6 assists) through 42 games this season.
By signing McCarron, the Predators take care of one of their many upcoming free agents. Other notable pending UFA’s include Tommy Novak, Yakov Trenin, Kevin Lankinen, Alex Carrier, and Dante Fabbro.
According to Cap Friendly, the Predators have over $25 million in projected cap space for the 2024-25 season.
