The scene was beautifully set as snow began falling right before puck drop under the lights at Comerica Park. It was a stellar matchup that went to the overtime shootout with the Toronto Marlies pulling out the 4-3 victory. Following the outdoor matchup between the Marlies and Grand Rapids Griffins at Comerica Park, former Nashville Predator and Florida Panther, Jerred Smithson spoke about his experience. It was a gritty battle where Smithson knew his role. As a veteran, he knows how much of a positive influence he can have on the young players to help them develop.
