Keys to Watch
Saros in Net
Tonight, the Nashville Predators will make it back to Bridgestone Arena after an extended road-trip. The Predators have made a storming comeback after struggling during the month of December. The Predators are projected to send out Juuse Saros in net for the team. Saros is 5-3-0-1 this season with a 1.44 goals-against average and .952 save percentage. The Predators will need Saros to continually play well, especially moving forward. Nashville has a great one-two punch in net and need both goaltenders to continue their solid play.
Forsberg Heating Up
The Predators have seen increased production from many of their players in the month of January, but nothing compares to Filip Forsberg. Forsberg has four goals and one assist over the last five games to push his season totals to 14 goals and 17 assists. Also, the Ostervala, Sweeden native has five game-winning goals this season and is on par with his 11.6% shot percentage. His ability to open up the offense and get Nashville producing is moving this team to the winners column.
Analysis of Sabres
When analyzing the Buffalo Sabres play this season, Kyle Okposo’s resume comes to mind. The Predators will need to keep an eye #21. This season, the St. Paul, Minnesota native leads the Sabres in goals-scored (14), fourth in assists (16), and leads the team with 30 points. Outside of Okposo, Buffalo has struggled offensively with 2.37 goals-scored per contest. They have a very strong power-play, which ranks 6th in the NHL (22.4). The Preds will have a team tonight that will be hungry to get a win on the road.
Tonight, the Predators will make their way back to the Music City, looking to get another win before the All-Star break. With Colin Wilson activated, the Predators are moving back to full strength.
