Game Preview: Preds vs Coyotes

Keys to Watch

Troubles on the Road

The Nashville Predators record away from Bridgestone Arena is 3-8-2. With only eight points on the road, this places Nashville last in the Western Conference on the road. After a 5-2 shellacking against the Dallas Stars, the Predators will need to right the ship and will face a perfect opponent tonight in the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes home record is 5-5-2 and in the last ten games the Yotes are 3-4-3. The Preds will need to have a good showing tonight in the desert.

Struggles in the Desert

The Arizona Coyotes have the worst record in the Western Conference so far this season. With a record of 8-13-5 and 21 points, needless to say that there is some panic going on in the state of Arizona. The Coyotes are currently 29th in the NHL with 2.15 goals per game, 29th with 3.12 goals against per game, 24th on the power-play (14.3), and 22nd on the penalty kill (80.0). There are many struggles going on for this squad, and tonight is the perfect opportunity for the Predators to take advantage of a struggling team.

Predators Offense

Quietly, the Nashville Predators are putting together a top-ten offensive production performance. The Predators are currently tied for seventh in the NHL with 77 goals on the season. Nashville is currently tied for sixth in the NHL with 2.96 goals per game. Granted, some of last year’s best goal-scorers have not been producing (Forsberg, Smith) and have dealt with an abundance of injuries. With some of the injured returning, and the offense picking back up, the Predators will look to continue their offensive production that they have enjoyed so far in the 2016-17 season.

The Nashville Predators are looking to get back on track after a rough outing in Dallas on Thursday night. Be sure to catch all of the Preds action on Fox Sports-Tennessee or you can listen live on 102.5 The Game. Puck drops at 7:00 pm!
