On Monday night, at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft Lottery, the Chicago Blackhawks won the right to draft forward Connor Bedard first overall this June. The Nashville Predators stayed at their season-end standings position and will first pick at 15th overall, where they had a 97.9 percent chance of selecting per pre-lottery odds.
Nashville owns 12 more picks in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, including the Edmonton Oilers’ first-round pick. Depending on the results of the Stanely Cup Playoffs, Nashville will pick again no sooner than 25th overall.
The Predators have picked twice in the first round on two occasions: in 2008 when they selected Colin Wilson and Chet Pickard and in 2021 when they selected Fyodor Svechkov and Zachary L’Heureux. The last time Nashville selected 15th overall was at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft when they selected forward Alexander Radulov.
The 2023 NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 28th and 29th at Bridgestone Arena.
