After being healthy scratched the last four games Cody Glass will return to Nashville Predators’ lineup tomorrow night against the Anaheim Ducks.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him [tomorrow] night,” Andrew Brunette said. “I think he had a nice little reset. I think he will be good tomorrow.”
Brunette said injuries have been an unfortunate reality for Glass, but the team needed him to sit out in order to return to full form.
“I think he needed more time to get his game going. He needed to sit out, watch a little bit, put some work in with the coaches. Get some video and some conditioning, just get back up to speed.”
Glass said he’s excited about a return to the lineup and emphasized the positive feedback he’s been getting as a reason why he’s ready.
“I’ve had a lot of conversations with Bruno and the other coaches,” Glass said. “They’ve been nothing but positive. They want to see me succeed and that’s something great that I love hearing.
A knee injury and a shoulder injury have kept Glass out of the lineup much of this season. He’s played in only 16 of the team’s 40 games so far.
But he doesn’t blame injuries for why he’s been slow to return to action over the last couple weeks.
“I think just the mental side of it was affecting me a lot,” Glass said. “Had nothing to do with my body or whatever it was. It was just all in my head, so it’s nice to just get out of my own head and just find that joy in playing hockey again.”
This will be Glass’s eighth game in the lineup since returning from a shoulder injury suffered against Colorado on November 20th. He has one goal and one assist this season, playing in the first year of a two-year, $5 million contract.
