Admirals drop game one in 7-0 loss

While the Predators are working to fix their own playoff woes going into a possible elimination game on Monday night, their AHL affiliate was getting trounced by the Iowa Wild. There were few positives for the Admirals as nothing seemed to go their way. They were out-shot 42-29 and seemed slow compared to a stacked Wild team. They also took 9 penalties throughout Sunday’s contest.

Scoring for the Wild started with former Admirals forward Cal O’Reilly. Gerald Mayhew, Sam Anas, Luke Kunin and Colton Beck all had one goal in the game while Kyle Rae had a multi goal game with two.

Both Troy Grosenick and Tom McCollum had time in net for Milwaukee. Grosenick play 31:24 before switching out with McCollum. Grosenick allowed four goals while McCollum allowed the other three.

Perhaps the only positive note for the Milwaukee Admirals was that despite taking nine penalties, the Admirals penalty kill unit was able to kill eight of them.

The Admirals will look to avenge their loss in game two in Iowa on Tuesday night.
