Nashville Predators head coach and Jack Adams finalist Andrew Brunette finished second in voting for the award given to the coach “adjudged to have contributed the most to his team’s success”. Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet won the Award for the 2023-2024 season. Rick Bowness, head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, finished third.
Tocchet received 82 first place votes while Brunette earned eight first place votes and Bowness five.
This was Andrew Brunette’s first season behind the bench with the Nashville Predators but his second Jack Adams nomination. He was also a finalist in 2021-2022 when he served as the interim head coach for the Florida Panthers. He finished second in voting behind winner Darryl Sutter, then coach of the Calgary Flames.
Brunette acknowledged this most recent nomination when it was announced on May 3 saying, “Obviously it’s a tremendous honor.”
He joked about his nomination as Florida’s interim coach saying, “Last time didn’t go quite as well. I think I lost my job a little while later, so I don’t know how to take it anymore.”
