Tonight, the Nashville Predators continued their road trip as they traveled to Arizona to face the struggling Coyotes.
The game started on a back-and-forth tilt where the Coyotes struck first at 4:49 of the first period when Antoine Vermette scored his 7th of the year (PPG).
Pekka Rinne would not allow another goal as the Preds went on to score 5 unanswered goals against the Coyotes.
The first was a PPG by Mike Fisher at 6:57 of the first period. This would be the only PPG of the night foe the Preds.
The Preds weren’t done in the first when James Neal scored his 11th of the season at 11:06.
The final goal of the first came at 18:30 when Ryan Ellis was able to beat Mike Smith for his 3rd of the year.
The 2nd period was a lot of chances for both sides, but no scoring. An interesting battle was between the Coyotes, Martin Hanzal and Anton Volchenkov. These two physical players battled hard all night.
The 3rd period was all Preds with two goals. The first was at 2:43 by Calle Jarnkrok.
Then, at 7:20, Olli Jokinen tipped one in off his skate to make it a 5-1 decision in favor of the Preds.
