Zach Stepan finding new career in hockey behind the bench

Former Minnesota State Maverick and Nashville Predators prospect Zach Stepan has found success in coaching. In his playing career, Stepan played a season with the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks, played four year at Minnesota State, Mankato and also played for Team USA in the U20 World Junior Championship. Stepan was a 2012 fourth round pick of the Nashville Predators as well. Following his playing career, he spent a season as an assistant coach with the NAHL Chippewa Steel, and he was recently announced as the head coach for the NA3HL New Ulm Steel, a partner club of Chippewa.

We spoke with Zach about this new career, how he wants to develop his team, what the transition to coaching has been like, what he learned from Preds development camps, what it was like to participate in the Elite Edge Hockey Showcase, representing Team USA during his career and so much more.
