Thanks for having me, guys: A note from managing editor Michael Gallagher

Penalty Box Radio has been my home for the last three years. Justin Bradford was kind enough to bring me on as a staff writer when I was looking for a change.

Justin’s response when I asked about joining PBR was, “Absolutely dude! You’d be an asset to us.”

Those words really stuck with me ever since. As many of you know, sports journalism can be a fickle field. You don’t get into the business for the “good jobs” or the “atta boys,” so it was nice to have someone take the time to let me know they saw the value that I brought to the table.

Since 2017, I’ve got to continue my dream of covering professional sports and I’ve met and worked with some truly wonderful people, many of whom I’m proud to call friends.

I’m proud of the work I did at PBR including three seasons of playoff runs, in-depth coverage of Preds prospects, including several development camps and a prospect podcast, while also getting to shine a light on other parts of the hockey world including the GNASH high school hockey league and the NWHL All-Star game.

It has been a wild and fun ride. Of course, none of it mattered without the loyal PBR fans. You guys go crazy for some Preds coverage and it’s amazing to see how passionate this fan base has become over the last handful of years.

That being said, my time with Penalty Box Radio has come to an end after three great years. However, I’m not going anywhere as I have accepted a position as the new sports reporter at the Nashville Post – the place that gave me my start in the sports industry nearly five years ago.

I will still be a big part of the Predators media scene, but will also be sharing my time with the Titans, Vanderbilt, Nashville SC, and several other Nashville-area teams and people.

So, thanks again for everything Penalty Box Radio.
