Preds sweep Blues in home-and-home for second time this season

For the second time this season, the Nashville Predators have swept the St. Louis Blues in a back-to-back home-and-home series. Following a 4-3 win Saturday night in St. Louis, the Predators finished off the Blues 2-1 Sunday evening.

Now only one point out of a playoff spot with games in hand on both Arizona and Calgary, the Nashville Predators seem to finally be hitting their stride. With a difficult schedule to finish the season, they’ve won three games in a row for the first time since October. And each one has been done in different fashion. They dominated the Islanders at home on Thursday in a 5-0 victory. Saturday, they had a 3-1 lead, allowed St. Louis to tie the game, but scored early in the third and held on to win. Sunday was a sloppy game on both sides, but a timely goal late in the third period by Kyle Turris gave them the victory.

Finding ways to win has been difficult for Nashville this season, but in putting together three wins in a row and showing some mental toughness, have they turned the corner? We’ll find out soon as the trade deadline looms and they continue to push for playoff positioning.
